Fury Review

Fury by Elizabeth Miles

Published by Simon Pulse

Sometimes sorry isn’t enough….

It’s winter break in Ascension, Maine. The snow is falling and everything looks pristine and peaceful. But not all is as it seems…
Between cozy traditions and parties with her friends, Emily loves the holidays. And this year’s even better–the guy she’s been into for months is finally noticing her. But Em knows if she starts things with him, there’s no turning back. Because his girlfriend is Em’s best friend.
On the other side of town, Chase is having problems of his own. The stress of his home life is starting to take its toll, and his social life is unraveling. But that’s nothing compared to what’s really haunting him. Chase has done something cruel…something the perfect guy he pretends to be would never do. And it’s only a matter of time before he’s exposed.
In Ascension, mistakes can be deadly. And three girls—three beautiful, mysterious girls—are here to choose who will pay.
Em and Chase have been chosen.
-Description from Goodreads

This book has so many awesome qualities that reveal themselves to you after being read. I’ll fully admit that as I began reading I couldn’t believe how shallow and insipid the main characters were being. I need a book to earn my respect and admiration pretty early on for me to continue reading and while the beginning chapters of this book definitely did not do that for me I am SO HAPPY I continued reading. The plot line is intriguing, well paced and full of mystery. The characters, while hard to relate to in the beginning and quite frankly make you want to scream at them in frustration, by the end have you feeling fully sympathetic (a hard feat in my opinion for any author to achieve). It is a creepy read that still weeks later has me questioning what happened and pondering the ending. A worthy and intriguing read!

I NEED a sequel ASAP! And bonus, Elizabeth came by my work for a signing and I snatched up a copy and had it signed.

Take a look around and let me know what I can improve or what already looks fabulous. And bear with me as I learn all the blog mumbo jumbo.
